Porthgain harbour was constructed in 1851, its primary purpose being the export of slate from quarries in the surrounding area operating from at least 1800. WebPorth-gain, also known as Porthgain, has fishing from a harbour and from rock marks. The harbour fishing is onto clean ground, the rocks onto mixed rough and clean. Fish include dogfish, pollack, wrasse. Porth-gain is signposted from Croesgoch on the A487 between St. David’s and Fishguard. Parking is available in the village.
